Newsletter No. 1 - Term 3 - 2008
Dear Parents,
Newsletters are one of the ways in which we keep you informed of what is going on in school. This new format willl hopefully make them more readable. I shall try to vary the content and where appropriate get some items written by the children. Copies of newsletters are posted on the Parents’ Noticeboard under the canopy outside Class 3C and also on the school’s website.
Sadly some things don’t change - once again I have to appeal to unauthorised users of the Car Park not to do so….in recent weeks there have been some chaotic scenes there before and after school …..YOU ARE PUTTING CHILDREN AT RISK.. If you have to drive the children to school please drop them off outside the Stowey Road entrance.
MRS. BARNES RETURNS FROM MATERNITY LEAVE
Mrs. Helen Barnes will be resuming her duties on Monday 25th Feb. i.e. the first day of Term 4. We shall be sorry to say farewell to Mr. Steven Lees who has been in charge of Class 4L. We are grateful to him for his hard work in developing the children during that period. Steven’s last day here will be Fri. 8th Feb. when he moves to Sheffield to further his studies which he hopes will gain him a Doctorate ……. good luck Steven and thank you. Mrs. Marguerita Thobroe will continue to work with Class 4B for one day (Friday) each week .
The week beginning on February 11th is ARTS WEEK….the theme is Folk Tales … teachers would be grateful for any offers of help.
The children have opportunities to experience a range of extra curricular activities…I am collating these so that you will know what is available for each year group and what the cost is likely to be. High on my list of priorities is the need to offer cycling lessons . Planning Permission has been granted for our new cycle storage unit ….ownership of the manufacturer has changed, thus delaying the January delivery by several weeks.
